Play Doh Golf!

Call him obsessive, but Levi literally flipped over a frisbee, put green Play Doh in the frisbee and then setup a toy golf tee in the Play Doh.  After placing the ball on top of the tee and grabbing his driver (in motion in the picture), he was ready to rock and roll....FORE!!!

Getting Ready for Halloween

Levi's great-aunt, Tante Guilou sent him some fun halloween window decorations.

It was a great way to welcome Fall and get excited about Halloween--and of course, Levi wanted to do it "all by myself."

And he did do it by himself...and he was so very proud!

Thanks Tante Guilou for helping us start off the Halloween festivities with a bang!

Chomp.

Our friend Betty sent us this photo of Levi, chomping down on some delicious Elote (mexican corn) at our favorite Mexican restaurant--Castros.

..can you tell how much he loves this?

We stand corrected

Levi likes to make sure we know exactly what's what.
On movies:

Hey buddy, do you want to watch the movie Up?

Levi: No, no Mommy, it's not Up, it's Down!

On himself:

Aren't you a little man!

Levi: No, no. I'm not a man, I'm a boy.

On culinary delights:

Here's some pasta for dinner, Levi.

Levi: No, daddy. That's not pasta. That's mac and cheese.

On sports:

Good job Levi. You hit the baseball.

Levi: NO! no, Mommy. That's a foul tip. That's not a good job.

Well, okay then.

I guess he needs "Levi time".

Levi: Mommy, I wanna go potty!

Mom: You need to potty Levi? Great, let's go to the potty.

(The two proceed to the potty, where Levi makes himself comfortable)

Levi: Okay, Mommy, now go way.

Mom: You want me to go away?

Levi: Yes, go A-WAY Mommy. I need privacy.

At the playground

It hit 90 degrees yesterday and Levi needed to cool off (Mommy did too!) since we still don't have any AC in the apartment. So while daddy took a jog, we hit up the local playground...and the awesome fountain for a little water fun.

(sorry for the technical difficulties yesterday. I was trying to post from the good ol' blackberry with little success)

Bowtie Levi

Sorry for the relative silence in the blog. We have been all over the place with weddings and summer planning etc.

More soon. But until then, we leave you with this...Levi at his Uncle Shaun's wedding...fun time ;-)

He Tried It, He Liked It

While experiencing his first ever self-held ice cream cone (Turkey Hill Rocky Road to be exact), Levi caught a passing phrase and made it his own...."I tried it, I liked it."

Levi Wallace (aka Braveheart II)

While walking in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens on a beautiful Friday, Levi discovers one of millions of sticks present within a 30 ft radius. He grabs for multiple sticks to accompany the one in his hand, but given his inclination to sprint everywhere, we decide against a two stick "attack." We continue our peaceful journey, Levi twirling his stick, when we hear a five year old's voice up a slight hill to our left:

Five year old ("5" from here on out): Look at that violent kid. (Meaning Levi, twirling his stick)

Levi looks in his general direction with a "what the f" look on his face.

5: Stop looking at me. You stop it!

L. Wallace (standing 20 ft away and pointing his stick at 5): YOU stop it!

5 (turning and walking away): I don't like you.

5 turns back around, coming towards Wallace II

5: Leave me alone.

What happened next is an event that even Hemingway could not  effectively explain through the written word.  I ain't no Hemingway, but here it goes...

At the last utterance of a bullying sound from 5, Levi brought his stick to attention and started to charge while exclaiming, "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." If 5 had been the one to charge, surely Wallace would have knelt, his stick held flat, shouting, "Hold......Hold"   But, he decided for the offensive.

After 2 steps and about 1.5 ft of movement (still ~18.5 ft from 5), 5 turned and ran 3 ft until his head was safely behind his map-reading father's knees.  Wallace stopped as Tash began to grab him. He had been successful; a smile crossed his face. We quickly scooped up Wallace and continued our stroll as we overheard 5's map-reading mother unapprovingly say, "What are you doing? Picking fights with two year olds?"

Tash, Wallace, and I chuckled...actually, if you put down the map, you would see he's only 21 months. Your son just picked the wrong 21 month year old to mess with.

Levi-isms (cont)

Levi (holding up a Larry Bird Figure): What's That?

Kevin: Larry Bird

Levi: Nope. Larry Birdie

Strumming the guitar and singing the song, nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey, goodbye -   "nah nah, hey hey, go bye-bye"

Top O' The Morning

What a great night it was introducing Levi to the one-and-only Timmy Shea (I think it may even have been love at first sight).  The food was as great as ever and the company made it even better.   Tasha and I celebrated the 5th anniversary of our meeting that night.  Thank you Lauren and Timmy...love you always and see you in VT this summer.

Snow Day 2/10/2010!

We meant to upload these pictures of our snow day weeks ago. This was the first of two (yes, two) snow days in NYC this February. The first time in 6 years that NYC public schools were off!

And of course, Levi took advantage of the fine playground weather.
Behold, the abomidable SNOWLEVI (du du dum)!

He was a little wobbly on his feet at first...

But soon gained confidence and began plotting his next course through the snow drifts:

Mommy taught Levi how to catch snowflakes on his tongue:

Persistence

The scene: 6:00am, Saturday, Our Room.

Kevin has sleepily stumbled from our bed to Levi's room and returned with a very awake toddler. Kevin settles them both into bed with the hope of catching a few more zzzzs...

Levi: Mama, Daddy....WAKE UP!

Tasha: No Levi, not time yet.

Levi: Luuunch?

Kev: No Levi, go to sleep.

Levi: (trying again) Breakfuust?

Tasha: Levi, please just go night night. (rolls over and pretends to sleep)

Levi: Mac n' Cheese?

Kev: (groans) No mac n' cheese Levi, it nighttime.

Levi: b'nana?

Tasha: (still pretending), no, no b'nana.

Levi: ohs?, bar? (cheerios, cereal bar)

Kev: Levi! No. You. Sleep. (grumble, grumble)

All is silent for a while. Levi seems to settle in to the pillows; draping an arm around Tasha's head. Kevin's snores resume.

Tasha: (slowing fading into dreamland...)

Levi: Luuunch?

Escape from Alcatraz!

Levi made a dash for the exit as we finished our time on Alcatraz. This was after he hi-fived an ex-convict who served time on Alcataz for bank robbery.

We have had an incredible week in the Bay Area and will look forward to returning in the future. Levi has made some new friends and will surely miss Nico and Teo when we leave tonight.
